Real Progress: VR in Physical Therapy
APTA Magazine published an article about how VR technologies are gaining traction in the field of physical therapy and gave tips for implementing VR into your practice.
Lisa Haggas, PT at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, IA, explains: “I’ll look at my patient and think, ‘What do I need them to do?’ And then as I’m going through my Rolodex of treatment modalities, it’s ‘Oh, VR (ed: MotionVR by Virtualis) is probably a perfect fit.”
Lisa also describes how much a 92-year-old patient suffering from chronic balance issues has functionally improved using a VR exercise (ed. LOS rehabilitation module by Virtualis).
